Hello everyone!

Been busy, but here is a quick game jam project made for the gdevelop game jam! My first time doing a game like this, but I'm really proud of the result, it was a really fun one to work on, probably one of my weirder projects to date.

There is a lot of lore and plot nonsense that didn't make it, and unfortunately I didn't have much time to play test, hopefullythe game is more in the fun side of unbalanced...

Maybe after the game jam is done I'll push out a cut content patch

As far as the game itself you play as May, waking up in an abandoned warehouse with no memories,just a Winchester rifle and a countdown timer.

Try to survive for 999 seconds, or  just about 15 minutes, using your wits, parasites and an assortment of recreational drugs

Parasites: the main gimmick of this game, they work like standard upgrades similar to games such as vampire survivor,with the added caveat that each upgrade contributes to a constant loss of health, I wanted to address the design problem of a lot of bullet heaven games, we're after a point you are so overlevelled it does not matter what upgrade you get, here you must pick carefully, balancing your diminishing health, keeping up your DPS, and other utility upgrades. This way the game keeps getting harder over time, rather than plateauing. Let me know what you think of this feature!

Drugs! Defeating particularly hard bosses nets May the ability to browse the dark web to order various types of drugs, from blue meth, to gas station salvia, every drug breaks the game in a unique way,with crazy powers but also, like in real life, unintended side effects.

Here are some of my favourites include :

Assorted pills : randomises all of your stats, for better, and for worse

Gas station pill , speeds up the game time, player movement and damage, however it becomes nigh impossible to stop moving

Vermicide, resets your parasite level, but makes it Impossible to kill any boss

These were really a blast to work on, they changed the game in fun unique ways( they also stack)
